Let me share with you a story that’s straight out of a Disney movie – a tale filled with nostalgia, magic, and a little bit of pixie dust. My parents sold our family home in 1998, to a lovely lady. Fast forward to 2022, and I discovered that she was now looking to sell. It was like fate was calling out to me, and I knew I had to make it mine again.

But that’s not where the story ends! You see, the property had a very special feature – my Dad had built a magical studio in the late 80’s and early 90’s. I remembered playing in the shell of the studio as a child and dreaming of all the amazing things that could be created within those walls. Now, as an adult artist, I knew it would be the perfect place for me to create my own magic.

My family always referred to the studio as “the studio” since it was originally intended for my Mum’s creative hobbies. My Mum even learned the art of leadlight just so she could decorate it! It’s like the studio was always meant to be a part of our story, just waiting for us to come back and pick up where we left off.

My Dad and I teamed up to make some slight renovations. It’s amazing to think that we still have most of the original work we did on the house, including a beautiful pond outside that my Dad also built. It’s like the magic of the past is still alive and well, waiting for us to return and make new memories.

Life truly does come full circle, and it felt like a Disney princess returning to her castle. And who knows, maybe

A little about me….

My husband and I are blessed with two beautiful children. Like most Mums, I enjoy photographing their big, special moments, their funny little moments and everything in between. I also adore, doing the same thing for other families.

I have been photographing professionally in and around the Ipswich region since early 2011. During that time I have created many portraits for my clients, images that are creative, unique and timeless.

Although I am experienced in many styles of portraiture my real passion is capturing family milestones and preserving precious memories with truly beautiful images by creating archival Wall Art Collections and Albums for my valued clients.

I will show you a musical slideshow of your entire gallery. After that I will help you design and create the perfect Wall Art and Album for your home. Once our reveal and design appointment is over, you needn’t worry about a thing. I take care of the ordering. Hi there and welcome! I’m Kelly, but you can call me Kel. I’m a Brisbane family photographer and I’m obsessed with capturing families against magical sunsets and stunning country backdrops in and around my country hometown of Fernvale.

I’m also a Mum to three energetic, ever-growing boys, so I know how quickly time passes and kids grow. Before you even realise, the kids are off to school and you’re left wondering where your little babies went.

Thankfully, I’ve photographed my own family throughout the years. The kids at the chubby baby stage, the terrifying toddler stage, the preschool years, and every year after that.

I wanted to capture each milestone and every moment. Not just for me but for my boys too.

I soon realised I could share my skills behind the lens to give the gift of photography to other families.

Then they too could have precious memories to reminisce over in the future.

So, in 2008, my business K N J Photography was born.
